So I bought an Apexel last week to control my brs titanium heater as well. The apex seem to keep temp rock solid. Then I found out it’s not good to have apex control it as it will kill the outlet from on off cycle. I was doing 1degree swing and outlet was switching around every hour. So I got the ink bird yesterday and well to start it was 2.5degree off I had to adjust it. Now looking at my graph it kinda isn’t anywhere near as good at keeping it in the 77-78 like my apex did. As you can see in pics apex was within .1 degree on temps. The inkbird is all over. I am sure it’s not a big deal in reality to the tank but bummed it’s accuracy sucks. It’s the new aquarium model as well.

Extra redundancy is nice to have but I’ve had no issues with my apex directly controlling the heater for going on 7 years now. (Knocks on wood)

I think it was ok to use it with the old eb8 but I have seen people with the new eb832 having outlets die because of turning on and off. I was tempted to buy an older eb4 to add on to plug heater into.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
