Anyone been through this…? My monti seems to be developing a grey circle in the centre.

The outer is still nice / bright and has a growth ring..

Ive been through this myself before and resolved it, but I can’t think for the life of me what I did to rectify it..

have a look and see if you can refresh my memory…

thanks in advance.

Pics under heavy blue lighting making it hard to see what you’re referring to

You can’t see that Big dark grey patch in the middle In a transition of colour..?
The blue light destroys the detail so it's hard to see what's going on other then that it's not fluorescing.

White light will allow people to tell if there is missing flesh/bite marks.

To describe further, the inner area is still green but much paler and with an eroded look.
Its grey looking skeleton that appears to look like it’s come through the green.

i have seen a few look like this and I’m sure when somebody sees it, I will likely receive the correct answer.

Not sure if you resolved this yet. It is hard to tell by the picture if it’s the same issue I faced with my montipora. I’m not sure what finally did it but I had my potassium around 360-380 and slowly brought it up to 420-430. It started to color back up. What finally seemed to make a difference, I believe, was starting to dose strontium. It also helped doing an ICP test to see all my parameters.

I’ve still not sorted it yet, still a mystery!

I tested mag the other day and it said it was low I increased that, then tested with a new kit and it was then above 1500ppm.

nothing changed after adding magnesium…

I added a small amount of potassium chloride so see if I would notice any change; I haven’t noticed anything so far..
I don’t want to keep adding K chloride as my tests are saying it’s already above 400ppm…
I’m going to hang fire for a while and see how it pans out.
