I’ve had this running for about 8 months er so no light no water changes and it’s been my best attempt yet but I mostly attribute it to no light. I have tried keeping a reef tank 1000 times but have never been successful. I purchased an RODI unit so I won’t get so lazy with water changes. I think my past mistakes mostly include getting lazy because I don’t like not seeing progress and have never started with enough coral to get me fully on board. I’m planning on spending money on coral this time so marine I’ll be more motivated to keep up on it. I’m Also hoping posting it on here will give me extra motivation from the community.

nice. I felt like that before. This time I got myself an Auto Top Off and connected it to a plastic food container typically used to store cereal or pasta (tall and thin basically) sorta like this the pump fits inside and the tube comes out the lid top.
well worth it, I put my top off water in there (no chemicals, just the ro water)
I also bought a powerstrip I can control with my phone like this, makes it easy to turn off pumps or change the schedule of things that are plugged in.

Adding a UV to my QT tank seems to have helped in my mind, perhaps it is just having one and forcing things to be in there for a month. I dip all corals going in too. those are all things i did not do in the past and now I am much happier, posted some updated pics in my build thread.

Appreciate it. I actually spent more money on equipment this time I have the mighty jet pump that comes with the IM 10 I also got an MP10 tho I don’t have it hooked up I got an ATO and an Ice Cap Nano skimmer so I’m hoping to be putting coral in within the next month er two

Look for a local group on here or in Facebook etc. Locals always ready to help and get you info about local LFS or even get you frags! At least here in Phoenix it's great

These the last shots of the tank empty of coral ill be trying to fill er up over the next couple of weeks I got two chalices from my cousin waiting. I’ll post pics of what I get as I get it.
