Really debating a Maxspect Aeraqua Duo for my 135gal system. It makes it very hard to spent $700 on a skimmer I’ve never seen in person, or hear much about, but people have had good things to say about it. The website says good for 100-300 gal, but that seems like a crazy wide range. Maybe it has a wide range due to its ability to recirculate on one side?
My old Octo 110 classic is just not keeping up. I love Reef Octopus. However, I feel the Octo Regal 150int may still be a bit undersized? No other larger Octo skimmer will fit in my sump. The skimmer and filter fleece is my only means of nutrient export. I’m trying to keep it simple
Granted $700 is a lot of money, but you seem to get a lot of features not present in other high end skimmers.
This currently mixed reef is going on 2 years and has a medium-ish bio load for now, but I plan on stocking a bit heavier once I find a solution for my slowly creeping upwards nutrients. I’m limited to a space 15”x9.5.
enough with my rambling, what are your experiences or opinions? Thanks!
