Installing Acrylic Baffle / False Wall the CORRECT Way

Helpful vide. Was curious: what's the rationale behind the acrylic not touching the glass?
it’s in the video lol!!! acrylic expands when it gets wet so you need silicone between the acrylic and the glass to compensate for any movement.
