Has anyone used this additive? Is it safe for use in a reef tank or should it be avoided?

Whether it is beneficial or detrimental or simply useless, I do not know, but have no reason to have confidence in it.

Uh, how does it know how much of these you need? Unlike other calcium supplements, dosing is not based on testing but on a standard recipe.

I used limewater (kalkwasser) for 20 years, but there are lots of alkalinity and calcium systems that are good choices:
