I love internal because I don't have to worry about leaks or spills. As long as the skimmer can do the job and do it well!

at that price I would go with a bubble king, better pumps. Most of what makes skimmers now a days is the pump.

We don't have bubble kings in Australia
The only better brand here is
Royal exclusive & that's about another $1000 more expensive than this one

Bubble king is the same as royal exclusive, royal exclusive is just the company name, bubble king is a line of skimmers they have. If you are on a budget, I would look at the older reef octopus skimmers with the bubble blaster pumps, or just get an older royal exclusive skimmer. I have had experience with a lot of skimmers, and have had great results with both. Actually my friend has an older external bubble king and older deltech (the one with the ehiem/aquabee pumps), and the bubble king out preforms it by a significant amount. The bubble king is actually in a chamber after the deltech, so it is actually the stuff that gets through the deltch.

Only reason I would use an external is if I had to. Like many said they eventually leak and skimmer overflows are on the floor. I would get the broom from the wife for either or.

Tough to be in Aussie at those prices. I would suggest hiseas as they come in your voltage, I mean they run jebao pump's just like nearly every other brand and they perform great.

Still would go with said brands. I was just giving a direct example of the two brands side by side.

Thank you for everyone's help
Unfortunately I've paid a 60% non refundable deposit
So it's not possible for me to change brands or suppliers

My system is 3600ltr
And because ive been running deltec happily on my old 1500ltr
I have to admit I didn't consider any other brand
My bad I suppose

I've decided to get the external
Will run as an external & if I don't like it
Will then run it in the sump
I have room , we designed a dedicated skimmer chamber
So by getting the the external I have a choice in how to run it

Thanks all
