Hello! Like probably most in these threads, I'm new to the saltwater hobby and found this forum as a helpful resource in getting started. I've been keeping Freshwater tanks for quite a while. In freshwater, I love naturalistic planted tanks both for the biodiversity but also the resiliency that they provide, and I hope to be able to incorporate some of those same principles in for a marine tank. I look forward to hopefully becoming more active both in this side of the hobby as well as on this forum.

Welcome to your new home for saltwater reef aquarium resources and fun! Welcome to the family! :D

Hey, myself included. I kept a reef tank and fish only salty tank back in 2005 for several years well I worked at a pet store. Been keeping freshwater planted tanks etc and have 27 reptiles, 3 torts, 1 snake; actually these are my wifes....This is why im finally doing my salt build.

One thing to note, I cannot belive how much it has changed since 2005. Not just the lighting per say but the concept of 'live rock'. When I started I used to make fake live rock, mold and concrete than seed the in large garbage bins. I did this for my fish only tank and worked pretty good beside my crappy mold jobs.
Now most is reef safe rock that has to be seeded or has been to some extent. People are now loving bare bottom tanks and the N cycle is now more a bio dome cycle (BRStv) that helps with the idea of 'maturity". Just so much has changed.

Anyhow, as you can see my post are minimal so Im very much new to posting but not reading.
Nice 2 meet you! Post some pics :)
