Sorry for the late introduction!
I recently retired in November 2025 after a long career in law enforcement, and I’ve been keeping busy remodeling my home.
I’ve been in the saltwater reef hobby since 2006. My first tank was a 55-gallon corner aquarium. In 2015, I upgraded to a 75-gallon reef, which served me well for many years. Unfortunately, in June 2025 I had to tear it down after noticing my stand was beginning to deteriorate. I didn’t want to risk a catastrophic failure.
Right now I’m running a 40-gallon tank with the corals I decided to keep, along with three clownfish, a starry blenny, a filefish, a royal gramma, a blood shrimp, and three snails. It’s been a good temporary setup while the house renovations are underway.
Once the remodeling is complete, I’ll be starting a new display. I’m strongly considering a custom tank from Glass Cages. I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with Joe and Silas, and I’ve been very impressed with both their craftsmanship and customer service. I’m also looking at the Nyos 440 and the Cade systems, so I’m still weighing my options.
Looking forward to learning from everyone here and getting the next reef build underway!
