Inverse Function of two 6095s Connected

What exactly does the inverse function mode do? The manual explains how to activate it, but doesn't really explain what it is. Are the pumps working opposite of one another (one's high speed, while the other is low speed, then they alternate)?

Inverse runs one pump at the pulse speed when the other is at the main speed, they are just the opposite of each other.
