I have been haing a problem with snails and to somenextent hermits. They have been dying. I have been droppin extra food. More so on my 120 than on my 90. I used to have at least 50 crabs. I did put some meds in there many months ago. Shortly after I lost a lot of crabs. But I do water changes every other week. In my 90 a snail has been in same place for days. I lost at least one in the 90. I don't use R/O. My anemeones do well. My corals are ok. They are not up by the top looking for air. I lost a Torchus awhile back. All of my turbos have died almost. I have a lot leas crabs but not sure about that. Could be from loss awhile back. My tank has lots of coralline. I have to scrape my glass for green algae. I see my cerith snails at night. I don't want to buy any more snails. I shouldn't need a master test kit for snails right? I do test ammonia. My tank is established. Help? I used some meds quite awhile ago. Months. They were "reef safe". I would say which one because my crabs definitely died the next day. But I was using two medications. So I don't want to say. But I read an article on one where another guy i this forum have heavy crab loss with Rally Pro. I was using that and Melaifix. So I can't say for sure but I had crab loss just like he did.

Inverts need iron to properly function.
This might have been the problem. Stainless steel clamps on both return pumps. The fish store didn't have the snap clamps. They are gone now. The SS clamps. This the only thing I can think of. I have kept snails before. Long ago on FOWL. This is where I tead something about rust in particular stainlees steel rust. When you mentioned iron I remembered the the hose clamps.
