Very cool Tim 😎
I'd like to know how the macro algae does as a filter so please keep me updated on that.
That's always been something I wanted to try.
This chunk has been growing fast and tanked my nutrients since the tank is small. I had to dump some Ammonium and Phosphates in because Dinos are starting to show up.

It's been up and running for a couple of months now. I've been updating the build thread off and on. 😂

Going on about 2 weeks with my first fishy friends I believe.

Yeah, he's agitated today though... They got a roommate yesterday evening:

Now I need a Springeri Damsel (maybe) and a Blue Neon Goby. Then a Clown Goby (preferably Green Warpaint) and a Hector's or Rainford Goby should round out the stocking for this tank.

As you know the damsel is a flatworm eating machine, and in my opinion that's one of the finest blues available in the hobby. Old Glory would be awesome in an 8 gallon for that "nano sand sifting" habit. The little guy never stops sweeping the sand, but doesn't make the mess, or have the footprint of something like a diamond watchman for example. Neon cleaner is just goofy and fun to look at. Highly recommended

I'll have either a Blue Neon or a Sharknose or Yellowlined. Preferably a Sharknose...

For coloration, I definitely prefer the Rainford Goby but I've heard they can be more difficult than the Hector's but it'll all depend on availability I suppose.

Springer's will be in here eventually most likely, it's just a lot of fish in a small tank.

I will say that pop of yellow of Hector's goby is very nice, as you know. But old Glory is just beautiful all around (my opinion of course). My wife's Rainford's goby wouldn't be as happy in a newer tank. Very seldomly does that fish eat traditionally offered fish food. He's always sifting at the sand and pecking at the back glass. That's of course just one fish in one tank. Her pod population is almost at infestation levels. Lucky her...

Whatever you choose will look great swimming through that macro algae!

That's my concern with a Rainford in an 8 gallon with a Pistol and YWG. Not a lot of sand left to sift.

Didn't know this! So all or most damsels eat flatworms and clean a little ?

Not all Damsels do. The Springeri eats flatworms and is typically a model citizen.
