I'd considered one once before, but for underwater gear I prefer purpose-built.
Something like a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS30 isn't a whole lot more expenisve than those cases, and if something does happen, you don't lose an 800$ phone.

I have one of those for vacations. Not that good in the tank.
