I'm sure there's a million posts on this but I'll make it a million and one anyways.

How do you guys with iPhones take pictures of your corals under LEDs? How do you get rid of the blue? What app do you use if any?

I had some filters. If not then I turn the blues down on my LEDs :D

You mean like those little gel filters you can buy online and just stick in front of the lens before you take the picture?

Ya. I got one set on eBay and it helped but still didn't make it perfect. Also the first filter I got was way better than the second. Not sure I think the first set was thinner with less marks but I'm not a photography buff. Hints why I'm just using my cellphone. :)

That and look for the Roscoe gel book on Amazon. Lots of colors to play with.

Another tip. Point the phone camera at the tank then open the camera app. It gets a better color balance that way for no good reason that I can figure out.

I use a manual camera app to adjust the white setting. Not perfect, but better.

Iphone7 plus has pretty good white balance. My old iPhone 6 always produced blue pics but my iPhone 7 plus looks like this

These pics are taken under SPS ab+ setting from Radion pro G4 so around 17-18k.

There an app called snapseed. You can make your pictures looking just like when you are looking at them. Pm me and I can show how to do it.

Not sure if iPhone is the same, but on the Galaxies there is a "pro" mode that lets you adjust white balance, shutter speed, and ISO. With blues on, I pretty much turn my white balance up to 10,000K, turn my ISO all the way up to 800 (it's just a digital compensation, I believe, so no noise), and then adjust my shutter speed until I get nice rich colors.

It's nice to be able to just snap a picture and have it come out good enough to post. If i want pro style photos I'd bring out my canon with macro lens and edit raw format thru adobe lightroom. That's time consuming and I don't do it that often.

I have used snapspeed before. I confess I'm not good at it. How do you use it? What are your settings?

The "pro" mode on my phone literally takes 15 seconds to dial in (if that) and you can even save profiles which as long as you're shooting under similar lighting every time, would be perfect.

Straight from my phone, no post editing.

I have to agree with tvu on the iphone7 plus :) MUCH better than iphone 6 camera. Usually I use a yellow filter if I want to show the pop of color...Im going to be ordering some of those glasses though LOL

I use the app Camera+. It works very similar to snapspeed. I've used both and find Camera+ contains a few more options to help with removing the blue from pictures.
