I can not get the iron levels even remotely close to any. I have been dosing heavily for a while and levels are not increasing, still remains at zero. Thoughts......

Some is plenty. Probably way more than you need.

IMO, you do not need to (and should never be able to) see iron with a kit. That's way too high, IMO, though I know some kit companies (e.g., Red Sea) push high iron, and some folks use soluble iron to precipitate phosphate.

FWIW, I have a DIY I recommend based on inexpensive Fergon tablets from a drug store,
