When I see people talking about their cuc I always see they got a mix of hermits and different kinds of snails. Is there something wrong with just getting on kind of snail or hermit? Or is it done because different snails eat different algae? Still haven’t gotten snails for my tank so was curious if it would be a bad idea to just get 10~ trochas snails

Hermits are the least useful cleanup crew in my opinion. Different snails like different habitats. Trochus are good all around algae eaters for hard surfaces. Ceriths are also algae eaters but will spend time in sand. Nassarius are carnivorous scavengers that stay in the sand. Fighting chonchs are great sand sifters.
