Turbo snails are a good choice.I’m looking for recommendations for an automatic algae cleaner. Has anybody had good luck with one of these? If so, which brand?

Yes I believe you are correct. I wasn’t sure what it was called. I am trying to see how well these work. Are you meaning what is typically termed a scrubber? If so, the ones by Santa Monica look really nice. Lots of different models to choose from, too.![]()

If the $400 unit even works. I can't believe that thing will do well enough that a person won't have to go back and do all the corners and touch up spots it missed.$400 will by alot of snails.
I agree. There's just too many possibilities for it to fail or cause damage.I would not use such a robotic device. Far too much chance to run amok by hitting things, plowing off snails that get stuck upside down, etc.
But it's so cool lol. I swear I remember someone working on one that had a camera attached so a person could view the tank while it was traveling around cleaning.I agree. There's just too many possibilities for it to fail or cause damage.
Im not very gadget oriented. Im more of a hands on person. But I do understand the desire. But it's so cool lol. I swear I remember someone working on one that had a camera attached so a person could view the tank while it was traveling around cleaning.
I get the desire for one of these things TBH. Even tho it only takes me a few minutes per tank cleaning glass is still my least favorite maintenance chore.
Nothing new under the sun? Here's an old video from an earlier version of this idea. I didn't watch the video, but I do remember that ROBOsnail didn't live up to the expectations?Actually, I was referring to something like this. https://www.moaidevices.com/product/moai
