Is dollar tree sight okay for my tank

Is at my dollar tree they sell bags of Decore sand I’m wanna use it for a 5g I’m setting up don’t know if it’s okay for the tank has anyone used it and what we’re the results?!?

I assume colored sand and would not as it is likely intended for crafts

I wouldn't use it in my tank. First don't know what the process of cleaning it is could have chemicals and sometimes there is metals in the sand that cause issues down the road. Better to spend the extra few bucks to be safe.

Thanks I heard some people use it but again it’s form dollar tree so who know what chemicals it has

If you are looking for a safe cheap sand use pool filter sand from Ace hardware

Definitely not, the amount of chemicals could be much larger then you think the colouring could come right off.
