Don't believe so. These leathers do this every once in a while. I had a lobed leather that even shrunk real small then came back twice as big than before. They'll even self frag :)

I have one of these. Does this every once in a while. If you're water gets a little off or something irritates it, it will recede the polyps for a few hours or even a day or two. If it stays like that for more than a few days then you might have a problem.

ya i have a big "crown" leather similair to devils hand and it shrivels up every couple weeks and gets crazy nice looking afterwords

+1. You may want to give it a little more flow to get some of the slime that it sheds off.
