Is it normal to have chloramines in RODI waste water?

Well actually Chloramine does not damage RO membranes ( well at least not DOW membranes ) Chlorine will. I don't not know why but Chloramine will just pass right on through. Only free Chlorine will damage the Membranes.
Because of that shiny amonia bubble rap it comes with

Thanks everyone. So here's some numbers. My tap reads 0ppm free chlorine and 3ppm total (which is the chloramine level for Miami). After going through the RODI, the waste water reads 0 free and 1 total. The RODI water itself is 0 and 0. So I the carbon is working, just not completely. I'll see about adding another carbon cartridge to the setup. Great input from all of you!

In the mean time I'd change out the carbon block that's in there. Should be 0 coming out.

The carbon cartridge is brand new (c. 1 mos). I'm sure the chloramines were worse with the old carbon. I only started testing for chlorine/chloramines when I found out that they don't register on a TDS meter.

Does anyone know how to add a second carbon cartridge to an RO Buddie system?

Here's what I would do. Take the output from the carbon on that RO Buddie and put it into one of these.

And add in this block.

or this one

Then take the output from that canister and put it into the input of the membrane. Otherwise I personally would just replace the whole system as I'm not a fan of those styles for reef tanks.
