Yeah absolutely, I actually tape/fasten/whatever a turkey baster to that pop bottle neck thingy I described. Works like a charm. I should patent it. lol.

The idea of the "pop bottle dome" is so the coral can eat without issues of flow/thieves/etc.

Hard to tell from your pics, but it looks like to me the polyp is receding, and not from it not opening up. Can you see skeleton?
