My new BTA is displaying a kind of figure 8 with two round bulbous sections. Is he just happy and open, or is he starting to split?

Until it starts to tear itself in half at the pinch point, its just being a nem.
Nem splits happen quite fast in my experience. Youll know soon if it is.
