Hey all, I just got a clown fish pair from my LFS and I noticed two days in my clown had a spot, so far they are acting normal. They swim with the other clown, eat regularly, explore, hide in the caves I made for the tank. But today I noticed the spot gait a little bigger and is on the other side of him. The other clown fish is fine has nothing. And my tank is currently in the ugly phase of “after the cycle phase.

Is this little fish going to be ok? Parameters on the water are completely with in ranges. Just dealing with a bacterial bloom because I fed them too much for two days. Reduced the amount of food I was giving them.

Bloom should be ok. Add an air stone if possible and monitor ammonia

It could be that the two clowns are fighting when you are not in the room.

Does the tank have good aeration (not just circulation)? During bacterial blooms, the oxygen level can drop. If your tank has a protein skimmer on it, that would help. If it doesn't, you should consider adding an air stone.

I have observed them, and I don't see them doing anything. I have a protein skimmer on order; it's coming in on the weekend. Thanks! I was just worried about the spots on the little guy that concerned me. Both clowns seem happy and are exploring the tank. But I'll keep an eye on them.
