My Gsp just arrieved today from wwc, but I noticed the mat is not purple but it’s white. I’ve never seen one of this color. But I am not sure if I should wait it out or contact wwc and ask for a refund since it is a grey color

Very very very hard to kill this stuff.
Just let it be.
May take a bit.

Stress form shipping. But I have some that aren’t purple bodied.

GSP for me struggle unlike other corals so maybe too low of nutrients ?

Nope, I have high nutrients in my tank , me Zoa and pulsing Xenia that came with the Gsp are doing good. It’s just the white color putting me off

Any update on this? I just received a frag of GSP from them on Tuesday (6/18/24). It looks similar to yours, and it hasn’t opened up yet. The zoas and Xenia I got in the same package are doing great.

Hey yeah I have update. Gsp is very hard to kill but it’s very sensitive , it will close up for hours just by me turning the flow off for a few minutes, it’s grown double in size I would say since I’ve gotten it about a month ago . The Gsp was the last one to open up after a few days of it being in the tank

Awesome! Thanks for the fast reply! I’ve ordered a lot of stuff from WWC, but the look of the GSP I got had me concerned. I’ll just be patient and wait for it to open up.

Honestly, your probably better off if it's dead. Once GSP takes hold in your tank, it can spread everywhere and it's very difficult to kill off (one way is Fenbendezol - same for blue clove polyps). If it does live, then i would try to keep it confined to 1 rock (not easy as it can spread on it's own).
