Is my Nem dead?

Picked up a super vibrant and healthy BTA anemone from my LFS on Sunday 8/11, drop acclimated to my tank and popped him in.

A day later I find him shrinking tremendously, shedding and moving around.

Today I found him with basically no bubble tips, no color, and mouth open and moved again.

Tank is a 40 gallon breeder about 6 months old
Ai prime lighting + fluval sea marine 3.0 light
Jebao wave maker
0 ammonia
0 nitrites
19 nitrates
144 alk
1.025 salinity

Is it dead, or is there anything else I can do?

not dead yet, but it does look to be on its way out so keep an eye on it because if it does die, it will start to disintegrate and foul the water.

your water parameters as stated look fine. What do you have for filtration? Do you have any corals? how are they doing? fish?

I had an issue with mine similar to yours initially in my Fluval evo 5. The lighting seemed to be way too low with mine but once I upped the brightness it opened up and has been much happier. They tend to like 200+ par and they seem to struggle if they are wild caught compared to being a split. It is hard to judge the lighting because we dont know your schedule or time but based on the photo it looks way too low (assuming its not just the morning or turning on. I actually have an AI prime as well. Do you know what settings you run?

I have a fiji cube in the tank with a dc return pump, filtration is pretty good. fish are all doing well. i recently bought a few corals, they are starting to acclimate and open up just a little

I had the nem, on a top shelf where brightness was maximum compared to the rest of the tank (under ai prime) 100's on blue, uv, violet and royal blue, 13 on white but then it decided to move into this little corner where there is not a ton of brightness at all. my lights come on at 6 am and go until 7 pm with more white during the middle of the day and 100% blues throughout the day.

Is the flow directed at the top tank area? Constant flow in one direction will make a Nem move and then it may not get enough light. They do like flow but more random flow. Also when placing them did you turn the flow off?

so my return pump has 2 outputs both pointed to the surface in opposite directions to create surface tension. on the other end of the tank is my wavemaker pointed to the top shelf where the nem was. at some point int he night it detached from the top shelf and began climbing another rock where it attached for the day, same thig happened last night. when placing i did turn all flow off for about 45 minutes and then slowly began turning on the flow and upping it to where it typically would run.

Generally we don't recommend nems in tanks less than one year old, they just don't seem to do well until a tank is more established.

Stressed and looking for a home moving around... Mine did that when I got it, split quickly, one survived and one died.
