Is the Anemone alright?

Got it today, Long tentacle anemone, heres what he looked like after i acclimated him and put him in

and here he is and Hour or so later. (i put him up on the rock)

Hes under T8 lights, and normal LEDS, also in tank (2 clowns, chromish, 3 snails and a starfish

Give it some time to adjust. It should move if it is unhappy. Keep and eye on it though in case he unfoots and floats to a powerhead.

These guys can be tricky and need good water quality. Also, long tentacles usually are sand dwellers. What species?

Was sold as a Long tentacle anemone, under lights it glows green

I'd put him under an overhang until you're confident he's fully light-acclimated or you're running your lights on an acclimation program. Give him a chance to adopt some shade if that's what he prefers right now. Personally I don't know how mobile a long-tentacle nem is compared to a bubble-tip, he might not move so great on his own. My bubble-tip goes on strolls from time to time, but my carpet nem never budged and ended up melting. This was how I learned how important light-acclimation is to a nem, lol.

More than likely it will not foot on the rock. Lta's are a sand anemone and bury it's foot in the sand.

Done a water change yesterday to clean water

I moved him from the top to the back corner and his tentacles are now flowing better and not curled and he's slowly moving around rock

I have also been keeping up with his threads, I know he's trying really hard to do the best for his sea creatures but I think this anemone is way to soon.

yeah had it set up for about 3wks now and my cycle was complete, everything 0 or very low, yeah ik the tank probably shouldnt have anemones or anything yet but i got a reason why i got him!

I went into Petco this morning to look for better lights, and to see when theyre doing the gallon dollar sale cause i wanna upgrade, so i look over at the saltwater fish as i always do and the anemone i took was in a tank full of Aiptasia, i thought the aiptasia would kill these things? so i thought what the heck, my tank parameters are all good maybe i can put him in my tank, so i took him... he was right at the back in their tank with aiptasia on the rock and about 2cms of sand/ BB, and i believe they need 3inches or so of sand to anchor too, so i took him.. i was about to buy all the frags as well because the tank had aiptasia growing beside them and i saw they sting them? thats why i got him


I thought i was doing something good but if he isnt taking well to my water im not too sure what to do! and i aint taking him back to Petco
