Is the reef factory app down?

Hi, the reef factory app is not working and reporting a bug, I've tried reinstalling the app bit same issue. Anyone else experiencing this?

Yes its down. I have 3 of the 4 heads x4s and can't access them.

You can't log out and in as the app dosnt even launch to do that.

I found a walk around.

Go to the https://reeffactory.com/en/smart-reef-app/

And click the tab upper right as shown in the picture:

-Smart reef mobile
-Log in to your account
Then aquarium
Then devices

Voila!!!!

I have the "Reef flare Pro M | 160W" two each, plus mounting bars and 3d printed shades, never could get them to work properly. $ 1,500.00 wasted and they sit in my basement I think I would sell them for $100 Ea. plus shipping. To be fair I am not tech savvy, and the lights were too difficult for me to deal with

Thank you! That worked for me as well. My x4 pro is now accessible. App is down on several different phones. Amazing that BRS @Bulk Reef Supply is still selling Reef Factory products that depends on unreliable servers and app without any warnings or notification that Reef Factory is bankrupt without support.

Thank you! That worked for me as well. My x4 pro is now accessible. App is down on several different phones. I agree not so good feeling when you have a lot of money in a possible unusable product.

the app and set up is very frustrating I have buyers remorse after the money invested in something that may be a paper weight

Agree with the frustration, I have spent more money on lights than any other item for the aquarium over the years. They all seem to come with some sort of issue. I wish MH fixtures would become available again. Costly to run maybe, but when you add up the money I have in lights, collecting dust, MH would be cheaper

You’re correct that Reef Factory has gone bankrupt, but BRS and several other companies are covering the costs to keep the app active and functional. At this time, we expect the app and connected devices to remain supported for the foreseeable future, so your existing Reef Factory products should continue to work normally.

This is certainly a bummer. I've enjoyed using a RF kH Keeper Plus for over a year. Perhaps, events like this will motivate companies to adopt open-source technology with local control. Consumers will be more likely to look elsewhere the more devices require cloud access.

There is a update for the app in the Google play store. I use a Samsung tablet for all my aquarium applications and all is back to normal.

same boat; let me know if you get it to work. i can log into the website, but I can't get past the auth for the mobile app, which means I can't connect to the device
