What is your opinion of a CPR HOB refugium WRT the weight and potential stress on the tank? Roughly 20 pounds of water plus the weight of the equipment and some rubble.

I’ve used it on a Aqueon 29 for many years but I’ve had to replace the tank because of a slow leak under the bottom trim. I’m particularly concerned because the same brand replacement has noticeably thinner glass.

There are people who buy tanks, then put hoods on top of them with 150 lbs of crap in them.
As long as the weight is resting on the top and not prying against the back, it should be fine.
If it's a small tank with thin glass, I wouldn't do it.
