Is there something wrong with my goniopora?

Do you there is anything in my coral? It looks good most of the day, but sometimes it closes itself out of the blue (at least as far as I can say). Today I saw this black thing on it, do you I should worry??

i dont see a black thing. I think it looks ok. If you see some black or brownish type goo or jelly then you have a problem

It's shedding most likely simply fave your hand by it or turkey baste it of to help the prices it may need Alitle more flow

The Goniopora is considered "The Impossible" coral to keep. Most not surviving past a year in the average aquarium. You've picked a very hard coral to please.

How long have you had the piece and were did you get it from?

What do you consider "looks good"? Goni normally may close for a few hours then open up with polyps that will sway in current. If it is closed for more than a day something is wrong.

It opens up everyday when the lights are off. When the lights turn on it keeps partially open...

Both pictures are a closed goni, using them as reference. If it is open with lights off and closed with lights on. Your lights are too bright. The black area may be a burned spot.

Then need lots of food particles in the water, especially at night, on an ongoing basis.
