Hi, got this coral with a sexy shrimp hosting it about a month ago. It was on the bottom of the frag tank at my LFS, so I assumed it was some kind of LPS but now I'm not too sure. I fed the tank brine shrimp about a week ago and he snagged almost a dozen of them. So far he seems more like a pavona texture-wise, but it doesn't have the usual fan structure that a pavona typically has. Any ideas?

From web photo comparison they definitely look related if not the same. Thanks for the ID! ;Cat

Geez I pick my first coral and it's an SPS.

Great choice kid, great choice.

Don't worry Psammacora doesn't follow all the rest of the SPS rules. I have had it survive ammonia levels high enough to kill a small cow and more, virtually unkillable but grows slow enough it's not much of a problem.

Ok cool so it's not that bad of a choice
