I am pretty sure it is. If it is, can I just apply Joe's Juice or Aptasia X to it or will that harm the coco worm? It is right on the hard tube.

If its an Aptasia it will have a big disc center with long thin tentacles around the edge.... sort of looks like a Palythoa.

Aptasia are unmistakeable once you know what your looking for.

I just nuked mine with Red Sea Aptasia X tonight.

I cant tell if it is brown or purple/red.

Sorry. I am dense. What is LR? Is that referring to my cocoworm?

Back in the day, I would feed them baking soda paste in a mini plastic syringe, like a pipette. Heeheehee... not sure if it was the safest way to deal with them. It always killed them. It's been a while since I had one in my tank.

LR is your Live Rock in the tank
Ya I just woke up and realized what you meant. I got it from mg bosses old tank. He had them in a box for a long time. I bleached them before putting them in my tank.

This anenome came from the store I got the cocoworm from.

LR = Live Rock. They come in on your rock. If you started your tank with Ocean Live Rock or Cultured Live rock, you are likely to get Aptasia. Ocean Rock because well, the rock is full of beneficial life but there are often pests... and cultured rock because pests like Aptasia are in the local fish store rock too.

Its only a big deal if you let them grow out of control over a period of weeks or months. Just kill them with a syringe of Aptasia X and you've killed them off.... until inevitably another pops up. This is just a maintenance issue.

Here is a photo of an Aptasia, notice the reddish pink color, round disc and the elongated thin tentacles. Stick a syringe of Aptasia X right in its fat mouth and watch it shrivel and die.

I am an idiot. I just did a small water change. Took the coco worm out. Grabbed a blade and scraped him off in the old water.

Coco worm has a hard shell so I never harmed it...
