Got this guy 4 days ago. I noticed some discoloration and was wondering if its not happy. Perhaps it needs to be placed lower?

Thanks!

@Rooles
What did it look like when you received it?
I suspect, best left alone.

The sponges that I have prefer higher flow. I don’t know enough about your sponge. When I talked to Russ Kronwetter, diver owner of GulfCoast Ecosystem, he said robust flow was critical and that yellow ball, orange elephant ear and red tree grew on shaded ledges and in full sun. So, go figure.

What is the species name for the sponge?

Where did it come from? And how long in transit?

I looked at your tank thread; I think that your tank is too new to sustain a delicate filter feeder like a sponge.

It was the same color, with no white spots.

Im not sure what species it is.

It came from a local reefer. It went from his tank to mine in less than an hour.

Iv noticed air bubbles forming on its surface now. And i feel like its gaining a more blue appearance as well. Ill leave it alone and see how it does.
