Is this Brown Jelly on my Hammer Coral?

Please see the attached Pictures.

They are kind of Dark because I used an I-Phone and the Pictures do not come out good.

Here is the Back story.

The Frags were cut from a Large FrogSpawn Colony many Months ago.

They were Bleached White because they were on the Bottom of the Colony and my LFS said to keep them out of the Light or they would die from shock of too much Light.

They are in my Frag Tank which is a 20 Long (30 X 12 X12).

It is Lit by a Single Kessil A150 Ocean Blue 15K LED which is only 32 Watts.

Originally, I kept them covered partly under the Live Ledge that you see behind them in the Picture.

After about a Month they Colored Up a Little so I moved them out from under the Rock Ledge but still at the very edge of the Tank so they got the Least amount of Light.

They have been there for a Week or so.

Today when I came home from work I noticed a Brown Ring around some of them at the Edge of the Skeleton where the Polyp comes out.

I was very concerned as I had heard of Brown Jelly Disease but never had in any of my Aquariums.

I turned the Lights on and the Polyps came out.

This picture was just taken about 3.5 Hours after I turned the Lights on from getting back to work.

I heard that Brown Jelly travels fast from Coral to Coral (LPS anyways) so I am very worried.

So my question is is that Algae that formed on the Skeleton that was getting no Light or is it Brown Jelly.

Hopefully you see what I am talking about but the Pics are not great quality.

Thanks in advance everyone.

I don't see any pictures

Sorry typed it up on my Computer because that is faster then had to go on my Phone to add the pics because I took it with the phone camera.

To me (and I am not an expert on this) it looks like Algae like when a Coral Dies the White Exposed Skeleton of the Dead Coral gets covered in Algae.

The pictures of Brown Jelly that I have seen on the internet have the actual Hammer Polpy Rotting away and falling off the Skeleton.

But I could be wrong I am just very worried and hoping that it is Algae that is Growing on Exposed Skeleton and not Brown Jelly Disease.

It seems to be most prevalent in the Third Frag in the First Picture (Second from the Right).

The one next to it seems to only have it on the "Claws that Hold the Polyp in" (Best word I could think of).

It doesnt look lilke it to me looks like they need more light

I know.

They were much worse in the past and White Kind of See Through so I am Slowly Acclimating them to More Light.

Can you see (What I hope is Algae) around the edge of the Skeleton?

I know the pictures are really bad.

I will take some more Pics tomorrow when the Polyps are not out so it will be easier to see.

Hopefully I can Find a White Light too.

Everyone says that you need to get stuff Infected with Brown Jelly out Right Away so It does not Spread.

Is that common on Hammer/FrogSpawn?

To have Algae Growth like that?

Has anybody seen it before?

That doesn't look like brown jelly to me. Brown jelly would smother the top of the coral and be stringy and slimy.

Your pictures do not capture enough detail to make heads or tails of anything specific. You'd get more response if you focus on the coral in question and try to get a tighter shot.

BJD spreads quickly, typically the coral does not open once you notice the infection. All I can make out in your image is what appears to be otherwise healthy Euphyllias.

Yes LPS are at greater risk. Tissue begins to slough off quickly with BJD.

It’s looked this way for 3 weeks now I have no clue to what I’m doing wrong. No fish in tank just zoa, paly, torch and a few other 3 hermit crabs, emerald crab, and 2 turbo snails

What test kits are you using?

0 nitrate and 0 phosphate is really bad. Your corals May be starving .

Has your phos and nitrate always had this reading?

And no it’s not usually that low nitrate usually 5.0 ppm and phosphate 0.3 unless I have done a water change and for 1 or days it will be 0 and then go back up to 5.0 and 0.3

Looking back to your reefing roots: Did you start with Instant Ocean salt?
