is this common?

So i was looking at my tank earlier and noticed that my arrowhead was eating one of my small hermits...i did notice that one of my small hermits had come out of its shell the other night when i was checking for copepods...is it common for an arrowhead to eat other crabs? I got him to keep my bristle worm population down not to feast on my other crabs lol

it is if your hermit was about to die anyways. I saw my peppermint shrimp go after a half dead hermit crab.

I think it was the one that was out of its shell

when they leave their shell is is because of two things... looking for a bigger shell, or they are going to die.

Well he must have been going to die because there are plenty of other shells in there

Or It could have been molting. Are you sure the arrow wasn't eating the molting of a hermit. Because it looks exactly like the actual crab.
