Hi yall, so question;
I recently got a lifereef refugium (i think 20-30 gallons) set up next to my tank, i currently have some live rock and my a**hole coral banded shrimp named larry living in it. (week after i added em he killed my entire CUC and a couple fish, since then he has lived in the sump)
ive been fighting high phosphates (0.9) and nitrates (42ppm) for the past year and added a good size bit of chaeto to the refugium with larry, will that be okay as it grows? or will it take up all of his space in there? will the copepod and amphipod populations be safe in the chaeto with him in there?

been doing 20% water changes to bring levels down ofc but i need something else that'll help. i have been slowly building my tank and i really dont want to loose any of my coral or fish, they've been doing great but i still worry alot.

You can always manage the size of your chaeto as well. Keep it trimmed and keep Larry a manageable butt :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:
