Is this normal clownfish behavior?

Hi all,

The one clownfish in the corner is always in this position- its been a few weeks now since I got both. They both are active when I feed them but other than that, the one fish is always in the corner. The active one at least shows interest in me when i move around. The corner one is just like that. When I did my first water change, the inactive one seemed panicked but back to the corner once it was done. Any suggestions? Tank has no corals or anything. Just a couple of snails and hermit crabs (which I rarely see).

What kind of clownfish (I can’t open the photo). and what size tank? Have you noticed the second clown bullying it?

I am talking about the one on the right in this picture- he is there at that spot all day and night.

I’m pretty sure there is no such thing as normal clownfish behavior. ;) Mine spent over a year in the left upper corner until they moved down into my duncan.

Clown fish are clowns!! They have no "normal" behavior! They are odd little fish, and that is why we love them so much!

Not uncommon for the dominant to be in the open and the other kind of hiding. He is just keeping a safe distance and will only venture out to feed or if he feels she is ok with it. I've got pair of latz in which the female has chased the male into a corner for months and he darts out to feed, but now she's allowing him to be more close to her. She's been in a growth spurt so she wants all the food and show who's the boss.
