I just got these 2 juvenile clownfish Saturday night and it is now Monday morning. They have been swimming and rubbing against the back panel of my tank since I put them in. Yesterday afternoon I fed them and they ate but not a lot and they went right back to swimming against the black panel. Is this normal clown fish behavior? Are they stressed or still getting use to the new tank? I attached a video that shows better how they are rubbing on the wall. Thanks!

It might just be discoloration on the glass but it looks like there might be eggs there. If not it looks like they may be trying to lay eggs there. Their behavior doesn't seem to pose any immediate concern as they both look healthy. Do they have any flat surfaces to lay eggs on in the tank, like a smooth rock or shell? If not you can add in a terracotta pot next to the wall that they are swimming against and see if they take to it.

It is probably the back panel it is dirty right now sorry. And they are still juvenile clownfish I don’t think it is trying to lay eggs

Here is a video I posted on YouTube hopefully you can see it!

Let us put it this way - IMO - there is nothing that is normal the way Clownfish behave in general 😂

Sincerely Lasse

Typical behavior for the first year and a half mine were hosted by the return nozzle in the upper back wall before moving down into a Duncan where they have been living for about three and a half years.
