Hello,

I just noticed this on my clam tonight. Does anyone know what it might be and how to move forward? I really don’t want to lose my clam. TIA!

Close but the overall clam is receding and you may want to assure:
No pyramid snails on it
Salinity not higher than 1.026
Ph not to exceed 8.3
Alk not higher than 10
Ca not higher than 469
Temp < 80 degrees

Dang okay. When checking for pyramid snails, can I fully pull the clam out of the water? It’s foot has attached to a small rock so I don’t want to harm it anymore.

You will see them if present

I think you change these parameters every time you post this. Lol.

Its slightly different depending on the clam. These pertain to the very clam he and I both have.

Here is mine at 2+ years:

Pyramid snails can be very very small so take your time looking for them
Okay I thoroughly checked and no sign of pyramid snails but I’ll keep my eye out and check again in a couple of days. The white spot is gone and this is what it currently looks like. Do you believe it’s still not fully expanding? What else could be wrong?

Looks much better and pretty normal. Do add Occasional phytoplankton to the tank as well as providing good lighting- not strong.

Will do, thank you! One last question, as far as adding the phytoplankton, how often and where would you recommend getting some? Thank you, again!
