I’ve had this Scoly for a while and it’s always had this flattened out appearance, it never had the round donut look I always see in pictures. Actually, this pic is pretty mild, it’s usually stretched out even more and about 6” across with flat edges. I never thought much of it, but now that I have had a few people comment on it I’m wondering….. is this Scoly weird?

@KrisReef a few people have suggested that, but is a bleeding apple Acantho a thing? I’m so confused. Here are more pics. It’s not fully open yet, but it’s starting to fold. If it matters, that is not flow pushing up the back.

It's a beautiful puffy fleshly coral and the growth pattern and feeding tentacles remind me of an acan. Color patterns are often repeted in nature across species, it could be a

SYMPHYLLIA also?

one of my scolys flatten out a bit throughout the day, but not to that extent. Is it in an extremely low flow area? What are your parameters?
my other scolys have more flow and look like a regular puffy donut.

It's not an Acanthophyllia; flesh texture says so. It's just a Scoly (Homophyllia australis) that's been in captivity for a long time
