Issue with bacterial

I have a pico aquarium that cycled. My fish keep dying, the conclusion that my LFS and I have come to is that I don't have enough bacteria in my aquarium. My LFS suggested I add snails to the aquarium that concentrate on fish food and the poop. I'm wondering if I could use shrimp instead of snails. I have a solitary clownfish in the aquarium. He's getting an upgrade to a 45 gallon aquarium next month after it cycles.

I have a small mushroom coral and a toadstool leather coral, and a snail.

I too have a Pico, six gallons. In all honesty the conclusion I would come to is the size of the tank. Picos are too small for clownfish of any type. Perhaps a Neon Goby or similar but not clownfish.
Your best bet is to upgrade as quickly as possible and don't add any further fish to the Pico.
I am aware others do keep clowns in a Pico, I am not a fan. There are no fish in my Pico.

In hindsight I should've gone with the bigger aquarium the first time.

What size pico?

2.5 gal. I knew when I got my clownfish he was going to get a bigger house. I just wasn't sure when it'd happen. My wife and I were planning to move and decided not to move.
