Any help for my Lobo coral? his skeleton is poking through, but appears still alive - before and after a targeted feed photos attached. before feed = mouth wide open. after feed, mouth started to close, indicating it still has something?? Working on getting my nitrate and phos down (params below)... anything else I can do to help this guy? His brother coral to the left seems fine...

Any hope for this guy if i get my phosphates down? what can i do while i slowly lower the phosphates? i was planning on using GFO...

New to LPS. please be gentle. I'm learning.

Got him about 10 days ago.
Parameters are stable and are the following:
Temp 78
Salinity 1.026
pH 8.1
Alk 9.9
Ca 450
Mg 1320
Nitrate 20
Phos 0.2
125 gallon tank, about 1 year old, reefbreeder lights running at 40%. don't have PAR measurements yet, but getting them soon.

Where is it sitting at in the tank? Looks mounted to a rock with some rock below it? IMO you are roasting it. They don't need much light and prefer to be under an overhang or something similar in the bottom of the tank on the sandbed.

I don't think it's the nutrients as they are more forgiving than something like acros.

it is sitting about half way in the middle of the tank. i'll move them to the sandbed into an overhang area and bump up the mag.
