Hey,

I too over my buddies tank a few months back, he had it for 2 years prior.

I put the Torch in about a 5 weeks ago, it was doing great and then one day the polyps receded. It has been almost two weeks. At one point the polyps puffed up and then began to extend but today they receded again and appear flat, as if deflated.
I noticed some mucous looking substance on the side, in picture below. I am wondering if this is a bacterial infection and if so how I should deal with it.

Thanks!

Bacterial infections usually present themselves in euphyllia with excretions of "slimy" material from their mouths. Worse case it becomes brown jelly disease, BJD.

Sometimes they will excrete material from their mouths when stressed or overfeeding, not to be confused with BJD.

Has any of the heads done this? If not, it could be too much light or still adjusting to water parameters. What's your water parameters?

Also, where in the tank are they placed? Picture?

I have not see the excretions that you mentioned.
My parameters are:
Nitrate - 6ppm
Phosphate - 0.07 PPM
Calcium - 425
Alk - 6.9
Mag - 1410
salinity - 1.025

I have attached some pics of the tank. It’s a Fluval Evo 13.5 with a HD Prime 16.
I have a Green Torch that I just moved beside it but previously was directly above that is thriving.

Thanks for the quick response!
