I wanna say Jedi Mind Trick but no purple rim. LFS just said it was an encrusting Monti.

Chili Pepper monti maybe? Or seasons greetings monti. Agree I don't think its an Undata, no purple/blue rim around the new growth.

I got a frag as a freebie when I bought other corals about a year and a half ago. It looked a lot like that, and the LFS said it was just an encrusting monti. This is what it looks like today.

I thought porites too but not a typical surface texture for porite. Favia would be closer. Here is a xmas favia below:

Size is all wrong though look at the frag plug, that entire colony is about the size of a single head of the Favia, plus I have one just like it
