If that is what they are from my experience they only grow out of the light and have never caused me issues at all that a non chemist can tellMost likely Serpulidae or Sabellidae tube worms. Harmless filter feeders, but they can spread over entire rocks and throughout the filter sump. They won't cause any issues besides from a "cosmetic" perspective. If you don't like how they luck you can brush the tubes off with a toothbrush.
