I was out of town for a few days and before I left I noticed I hadn’t seen my Magnificent Foxface at the morning feeding. I looked all over for it and it was no where to be found. Usually it shows up at feeding time, so this was really strange. Other fish and coral all looked ok in the tank and I didn’t have any time to go in search of it, so I setup the auto feeder and left.

I got back a few days ago and again I put some frozen food in the tank and it again was nowhere to be found. This went on for a couple of days and no matter how much searching I did I couldn’t spot it. I figured my snails had made a meal of it. I even tested for ammonia and no spike. Very odd indeed.

Then this morning, when feeding some frozen food it darts out from behind some rocks like nothing ever happened.

It got me thinking, what’s the longest you’ve gone without seeing a fish just to have it “magically”’ appear one day? 😂

My foxface is the biggest coward and half the time I never see him but when I crawl around looking under rocks I find him stuck up into the smallest hole all camouflaged out looking like im trying to rob him 😂 put some nori in and he gets brave though haha. I had a wrasse disappear for a week once. Unfortunately, he then did it again and I never saw him after that.
