@CODE3EMT Yea, flying isn't a hobby, it really is a way of life.....I would say that if you got a like minded partner and went in half on a plane, you could get a nicely equipped Bonanza and operate it for about $1,500 a month each. So 3k total a month. Obviously there will be months where you get a 10k maintenance bill, but over time, it all averages out. You just have to be religious about putting back money every hour you fly so it all averages out. I could go on for hours about operating costs.
Check this channel out...This guy was one, if not the youngest guy to fly around the world. He did it in this plane on the video (A36 Bonanza). Its a 70's model, this exact model is still made today, although it is called a G36 because of different avionics package and cost over $900,000 today brand new. This one has been completely gone through. Just for reference, each one of those screens on the dash is about $20,000 each, before you have them installed. Club seating for 4 in the back (although it is weight limited) and two up front. It's really a 5 man airplane. 190 MPH on about 12.5 GPH.
