Hello! I've been here a long time spouting my opinions all over these boards but I have never really had a real introduction or build thread. I've been in the hobby for around 15 years and have seen reefing completely transform in that time. Most of that change has been for the better and some not so much. All in all the hobby, I believe, is in a strong place.

I advocate a lot of "unorthodox" methods in reefing and often try to encourage new reefers to start up with real ocean liverock, avoid QT, and embrace hitchhikers. This method of creating what I believe is a truly longterm sustainable miniature ocean has always worked for me. I guess my reefing style all comes down to living checks and balances within the reef.

Recently I decided to basically start over in order to put my money where my mouth has been. I will be documenting this process in my new build thread. Please check it out if you either want to see me succeed or even crash and burn. Have a great day!

Thanks for reading my post! I get the feeling that although nice, many of the ppl commenting on this thread didn't actually read what I wrote lol. And Han Solo happens to be one of my favorite characters of all time!
