I’m not breeding them myself, rather I’m getting a really good deal on some tiny ones and figured this was the best place to ask my questions. Given their size (about the size of the nail on my pinky finger right now) is there any special care they might need? My banggai cardinals are young but might be big enough to eat them. How fast do they grow? I suppose they could grow a bit in my 20 long quarantine tank, but then I wouldn’t be able to use it for other fish purchases for a while (lost everything to a pump failure in September)

I'm thinking the safest thing to do would be to give them a QT tank all to themselves. Feed.

How many are we talking about and do you plan on keeping them all?

These are them. The picture of a bunch of them in a tank is the seller’s photo. The little guy by the thermometer is one of her customers that got some last Saturday.

I plan on getting 4, growing them out a little, and only keeping 2. Seller said $10 each or if I take more than three $5 each. Might as well. It will be at least 2 weeks until I can go pick them up in Idaho.

I have them in a small critter keeper in my tank for the time being. I didn’t hear back from the lady the whole day we were supposed to meet and ended up buying a long tentacle anemone that was hosting a pair of clarkii clownfish. And then I finally heard back right before we left that evening and felt bad because I had promised to take some babies and she was giving me a bunch of corals. So the maroons are just going to be enjoyed for a short time and will be rehomed eventually when the 20 gallon isn’t adequate. Watching them slap the fake anemones with their tails is so funny.
