Looking for opinion on wrasse.

Hello. I have a Splendid Wrasse and an Exquisite Wrasse in quarantine. Both are doing great, eat well, and have never shown any signs of flashing or rubbing. I do not have them in copper as I have lost too many wrasses in the past. I know that’s not ideal for quarantine but I’ve decided to adjust my qt protocol for wrasses. I did 90 minute aerated Rally Pro baths for both on arrival. They have been in quarantine for 3 weeks, I am planning on monitoring for a minimum of 30 days.

The splendid wrasse has always been a bit “twitchy”. I can’t tell if that’s just his personality or if there is some issue. He has done it since day 1 and it has never increased or decreased. I’m not talking about when there is movement in front of the tank, I know they are shy. I might be overthinking it, and probably because I am not doing my normal quarantine procedure. I just figured I’d get some opinions on the topic.

The exquisite swims gracefully around the tank vs. the splendid has a jerkiness to him. Maybe that’s just how they are, or at the least how this 1 is.

While they do twitch, ruby rally bath is good but not fully a protection protocol and I would recommend at minimum, PraziPro dosed at 85% of recommended and allow it to work for 8 days, change water and apply one more application lasting 8 days and do add an air stone as Prazi lowers both oxygen and appetite

I don't see anything specific in the video. I assume you had pumps turned off, as there is no surface agitation in the tank - you should ensure good aeration.

I run a standard coppersafe/prazi quarantine on wrasses with no issues.

If you want to do observation-only, go at least 45 days.

From the reports I get here, Prazi causes more reactions with wrasses than coppersafe does.
