Anyone have experience purchasing Torch Corals from WWC?

I received this Jade Serpent torch after there fall live sale and received a terrible specimen.

Their customer service dept , and I quote , stated “ i see a very healthy torch that is closed in from shipping from that”

Furthermore , it appears that the same “red bug” infestation is still on their coral , as I had purchased another jade serpent about 6 months prior , with the exact same red bugs on them (small about the size of tisbe copepods) I am not sure what these are they might not be bad but it doesn’t seem good to me.

This is far from what I would call a healthy specimen, I understand thin flesh bands at times , but this torch has flesh that is beginning to recede back into the skeleton, from my experience, this torch is doomed , and will eventually succumb to an infection and die.

Anyone have any experience with torches there?

Try to take pictures under white lights instead of blue or use an orange filter. It's really hard to see much of anything washed out in that much blue. It looks like it has healthy flesh bands but I really can't see.

@Rocks reef

Please post a picture under white lights so I can see more. In the pics you posted, torch looks healthy although upset from being shipped. As @tbrown mentioned, flesh band looks good

Ok. First off, this is a wild collected torch that was recently imported and shipped. The skeleton and flesh band gives it away.
The flesh band is there, just not overly prominent which is normal for wild euphyllia, especially torches. Wild hammers, frogspawn and octospawn seem to arrive with better flesh bands.

1) If you want to feed it use powdered foods and/or micro pellets, think 1mm size range. Do not overfeed. One pellet or a single mysis is plenty! I do not target feed my euphyllia, however, they capture food out of the water column or when a micro pellet or mysis lands on them.
2) Ensure proper PAR and photo period.
3) Adequate flow
4) Patience

Reason I add patience is out of all my euphyllia, only one of my torches still has a small flesh band and it happens to be a wild, imported Aussie Banana Grail. One other note, wild Aussie euphyllia tend to come in with smaller flesh bands and aren’t as fast growers, IMHO, as Indo torches.
@tbrown thoughts?

I have had very little success with torches so I paged you. In my limited experience flow is huge for them. The wrong flow (too much) can encourage polyp bailing but too little makes them sad and droopy and they can't get rid of their waste.

Until they grow that flesh band back I'd definitely say give them flow but not super aggressive.

Probably give them a day or two to settle in before trying to feed them and watch for the feeding response.

The last torch I spot fed ended up dying while the torch I let fend for itself split three times before I finally ended up unaliving it.

I’ll chime, with my sour mood today. WWC, quarantine there stuff. Yea, customer service is not par, I’m not a fan, or will never purchase corals there. They could do a lot better, the one and only coral I did not dip from them, and I firmly state and stand by brought Bristleworms, and Majono’s to a tank I was super diligent to, but 100% my fault for no quarantining.

Tim, I edited my post above. I had it worded wrong and don't want to give the wrong impression that the OP needs to feed it.
Flow is very important. Too many reefers do not give their euphyllia enough flow.
I absolutely agree on the spot feeding, it's not needed with euphyllia.

I've bought nearly all my corals from them for years now and in my experience 98% of them have been great. Customer service is okay in my experience. My only mishaps with them has been a jade serpent torch that ended up covered in the tiny white euphyllia eating copeopods from eggs that survived dipping. I had to dip it in coral rx once every 5 days for about 6 weeks to break the egg cycle of them and fully get rid of them. My other mishap with them was colonial hydroids on a zoa frag but peroxide dip took care of that. And I also had a zoa bag get punctured during shipping and arrived in a waterless bag which they refunded that one. You may run into a small issue here an there with wwc just like about anywhere but overall they're easily fixable with good husbandry or being nice to customer service and providing bright clear pictures. I am currently waiting on a few more corals from them and I'm probably gonna order more during the Halloween sale this weekend 🤙🪸
